Privacy statement

Membership in 4ERA is FREE just by signing the online petition . All that is asked of members is that they support ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. We have male and female members in all the states, from all political parties and from all age groups.

Members who choose to be active receive 4ERA News and Action Alerts as well as articles, commentary and editorials about the ERA which appear in the media. They will also be given opportunities to participate more actively in ratification campaigns locally and nationally. Active members are encouraged to promote our mission and goals.

It is imperative that we increase our membership so that we can demonstrate the strength of grassroots support for ERA ratification. Our legislators will want to know how many of their constituents support this effort. Please encourage others to sign our petition and become online members. It has never been easier to make your opinions known or to stand up for justice and equality.

Our Privacy Statement and Pledge

When you become a member of 4ERA by signing our petition, you provide us with your name, email address, zip code and some demographic information. 4ERA is the sole owner of this information and we will not sell, share, or rent this information to any organization, company or individual in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. We may share your information with others only on an aggregated basis. We will not share information in such a way that it can be linked to an individual. There is one exception to this rule, however, and that is if the petition is presented to a recipent, i.e. a state legislature or the US Congress, as demonstration of actual citizens supporting the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. At such time, the recipient will receive a disaggregated list of names with some of the information 4ERA members provided when they signed the petition. This is because for a petition to be effective its recipients must receive a list of names rather than simply an aggregated number of signers. No individual or organization other than the designated recipient--that is, the legislative body of a US state or the US Congress-- will receive this disaggregated information.

When you sign our petition some of the information we ask you to provide may be optional, but we encourage you to provide it as it will allow us to better customize our campaign for those members of the public who might not be hearing about our efforts. The information you provide when you sign the petition is stored by our servers but is the exclusive property of 4ERA.
